Tes Literasi Bahasa Inggris SNBT 2023 (Belajar dari Soal SBMPTN 2016)

Pada kesempatan kali ini saya akan menunjukkan salah satu teks atau topik yang muncul pada soal SBMPTN di tahun 2016. Kunci jawaban yang akan saya tunjukkan yaitu kunci jawaban berdasarkan versi saya, so the answers are still open for a discussion. 

Tampilan teks akan sedikit berbeda dengan tampilan teks pada versi cetaknya. Pada bagian pertama, tes ini dimulai dengan sebuah teks yang memiliki 3 pertanyaan. Kali ini saya akan menjawab pertanyaan sesuai dengan urutan yang ada. 

(1) Smartphone, tablet, and e-readers should have an automatic "bedtime mode" that stops them disrupting peoples’ sleep, says a leading doctor.
(2) Professor Paul Gringras argued the setting should filter out the blue light that delays the body clock and keeps people awake later into the evening. The doctor, from Evelina Choldres Hospital in London, said every new model was " Bluer and brighter". He said manufacturers needed to show more "responsibility".
(3) As it gets darker in the evening, the body starts to produce the sleep hormone melatonin - which helps people nod off. Certain wave lengths of light, those at the blue-green end of the spectrum, can disrupt the system.
(4) Professor Gringras was part of study, published in Frontiers in Public Health, analysis the light "emitted" by devices. It concluded there was a clear trend for new devices to be bigger, brighter, have higher levels of contrast and emit more blue light. The professor of children sleep medicine told the BBC News website: "That is great for use in the day. but awful for use at night".
(5) "There is converging data to say if you are in front of one of these devices at night-time it could prevent you falling asleep by an extra hour".
(6) He said some sleep-aware apps had already been designed to reduce blue-green light emission. And that a bedtime mode could automatically filter out the blue as software such as flux already does. He said there needed to be "more responsibility from manufacturers" and the "key is to automate it".
(7) Professor Gringras added : "It is not good enough to say do less and accept this is the world we live in, they are fun devices but we do need some protection on what they do at night-time".

Untuk menjawab pertanyaan topic sentence ini saya akan melakukan  Teknik skimming, yaitu Teknik untuk mencari ide pokok pada setiap paragrafnya. Berdasarkan Teknik ini saya memilih pilihan D, blue-green light found in electronic devices sebagai topik dari teks ini. Biasanya kita akan langsung menemukan jawabannya pada paragraph 1, namun kita tetap harus memeriksa paragraph lainnya, apakah paragraph lainnya akan mendukung ide pokok paragraph 1 yang telah kalian pilih. Dan, setelah kita periksa, teks tidak hanya membicarakan tentang gadgets atau teknologi yang dapat mengganggu waktu tidur kita, melainkan blue light yang diproduksi oleh gadgets yang dapat menyebabkan itu terjadi. Oleh karena itu, jawaban D lah topik yang paling sesuai.

Pertanyaan ke 77 merupakan pertanyaan yang meminta kita mencari sinonim atau persamaan target kata pada teks. Sesuai dengan konteks penggunaannya dalam teks kata produced dapat menggantikan emitted.

Setelah itu, siapa yang bertanggung jawab atas otomatisasi lampu biru-hijau yang mungkin disebabkan oleh perangkat elektronik? Adalah pertanyaan terakhir pada teks ini. Dan jawaban yang tepat adalah manufacturers. Jawaban tersebut dapat kalian temukan dalam teks. Dan saya telah ubah font berwarna hijau.
